BETAPrivate beta · a small group of teams

Close the books on the day you said you would.

goClose runs the checklist, the reconciliations and the sign-off trail for every entity you close — evidence attached, due dates on business days, audit history already written.

One entity or forty · Free through the beta · No card

The close, end to end

Four moving parts, one system of record.

Most teams run the close across a spreadsheet, a shared drive and a standing status call. goClose replaces all three with one workspace that already knows your entities, your calendar and who signs off.

01

Generate

Templates → checklists

One versionless template per close type, with tasks grouped into folders and due dates written as business-day rules — BD+2, last business day, third Friday. Generate July for four entities on a schedule, or on demand, and every entity gets its own calendar and holidays.

02

Execute

Preparer → reviewer

Every task carries a preparer, a reviewer and a status that moves not started → in progress → ready for review → complete. Comments take @mentions and assignments, and anything addressed to you lands in one Inbox with a link straight to the row.

03

Reconcile

Balances → evidence

Account reconciliations sit beside the checklist, not in a separate binder. Pull the GL balance from QuickBooks Online, attach the supporting workpaper from Drive, and let thresholds decide what a reviewer actually needs to look at.

Sign off

Lock → audit trail

Submit, approve, lock the period. After the lock, the numbers stop moving — and every change that got you there is already recorded: who changed responsibility, dates or state, when, and whether it came from a person, a bulk action or the system.

Reconciliation

The balance, the support and the variance in one row.

A reconciliation record holds the GL balance, the supporting balance, the variance and the workpaper that proves it. Thresholds decide what needs a human. Signed-off records that drift after a later sync get flagged instead of quietly changing.

  • Variance, threshold and flux rules that stay deterministic period to period
  • Copy last period’s reconciliation forward without dragging its comments or sign-offs with it
  • A locked period rejects the edit — it doesn’t just grey out the button

Connectors

Balances and workpapers, pulled — not pasted.

Connect QuickBooks Online per entity for GL balances, and Google Drive for the workpapers behind them. Drive access is limited scope only — goClose sees the folders you pick in the Google Picker and nothing else.

Inbox

What actually needs you, and nothing else.

Inbox carries direct mentions and open assignments — deduplicated, deep-linked to the exact task or reconciliation row. It is not an activity feed, so it empties.

Controls

Built to be handed to an auditor.

Scope, role and period are product-visible constraints, not backend trivia. A user who shouldn’t see an entity gets a 404, not a greyed-out row.

Three roles, entity-scoped

Admin configures. Manager oversees the entities they’re granted. User works their own tasks. Every query is company-scoped before it returns a row.

Task history, read-only

Who changed responsibility, due dates or workflow state — with the source recorded as individual, bulk, support or system. It cannot be edited, by anyone.

Encrypted, revocable access

Connector tokens are encrypted at rest with versioned keys and rotate on refresh. Disconnect revokes first and scrubs after. MFA and invite-based provisioning on every account.

Resources

A library of the work, not a blog.

Customers get an in-app library: workpapers, policies and memos you can start from, plus Agent Skills you can download and run in whichever assistant your team already uses. The instructions stay portable — nothing binds them to goClose.

Available in the app to customers — it ships with your account.
